The luxury lodge situated above a 30m waterfall and overlooking the Indian Ocean, offers guests breathtaking views, beautifully appointed living areas and stylishly furnished rooms. The timber chalets set in fynbos along the river, are spacious and individually decorated. Guests can enjoy the tranquility of mountains and forests from the privacy of their sheltered deck, and in winter curl up in front of the cosy ceramic fireplace. There is also a jacuzzi, sauna, pool, gym, restaurant and barbecues. Enjoy forest trails, picnics, cycling, birding, boating and fishing.
The Nursery
The nursery forms part of the Forest Ferns Estate and is a Euro gap accredited facility, exporting ferns and foliage to flower markets around the world. Visit the unique Fernery and marvel at the magnificent display of indigenous ferns, or take a stroll through the fern and restio production nursery. You can also witness the activity of the export pack shed and cold rooms, finishing off the tour with a delicious tea or light meal in our friendly restaurant.
Activities
If you ever tire of gazing at the view or relaxing in the wonderful facilities, the Fernery and its magnificent surroundings offers an endless array of activities. Amble to the nearby dam and take the rowing boat in a quest to spot some of the 110 species of resident birds.... or simply use it to enjoy a round of sundowners. Those wishing to be more active can set off on one of the many hiking trails, for which this area is famous, or rent a mountain bike and explore the surrounding plantations.
For those guests wanting to explore the area, the Tsitsikamma National Park is close by with its magnificent scenery and variety of hiking trails, and day trips to Natures Valley and Plettenberg Bay are well worth while. The really adventurous may go bungee jumping from the Bloukrans River Bridge, black water tubing down the Storms River Gorge, abseiling, or swinging in the tree tops on a canopy tour.

Children under 12 years can share a room with their parents, we provide an extra mattress at an additional cost.
Children older than 12 years have to stay in their own rooms at full price.
1 month notice = Full refund, less 5% administration fee.
1 - 4 weeks notice = 50% of deposit will be refunded
1 week notice = 100% of deposit will be retained.
If there are extenuating circumstances that lead to the cancellation of a booking, we will attempt to resell the bed night/s concerened. If successful, this will marit a full refund less the 5% administration fee. Failing this the amount as above shall be retained.
