By shopping at the local art and craft centres, visitors contribute to projects directly benefiting local communities. At the Mdantsane Art Centre, people from the community are trained in various art forms and encouraged to develop a sense of entrepreneurship thus giving the centre a strong emphasis on sustainability. All merchandise produced at the art centre are for sale. The Sunday flea market at the beach front in East London is also worth visiting and a variety of art and crafts are presented for sale.
